Why We're Removing Top Downloads

You may notice that we've removed the Top Downloads section from the site. This may come as a surprise to some, but we're making this move with our artists in mind, for a few reasons.

First, our clients want to find their track fast, so much so that they'll use Top Downloads as a quick way to license music. While it is helpful, they're missing out on a wealth of music from our artists, and it creates a cycle of only a small percentage of tracks being licensed. We want them to experience all of our artists' incredible music.

Second, we believe artists' work is most valuable at its most authentic. We don't want to put your music in a box, by telling you exactly what's selling and therefore encouraging you to make something that isn't you. Our artists make great music that has their personality, and we don't want them to lose that.

So there you have it. By removing Top Downloads, we believe we're standing by what our goal has been from the start — to share relevant, authentic music with filmmakers.

How to Give/Take Creative Feedback

Some people hate it, everyone needs it: Feedback. It's one of the hardest parts of being a creative, that's why we decided to write about it!

Check out our two blog posts about being on the receiving and giving end of the creative critique process. There are some bits of wisdom in there, because God knows we all need it.
